"Hi, my name is Monty. Neil helped me to realise that travelling in a car can be a pleasurable experience and not something to worry about."

Benji

Benji

We had had our 4 year old Chocolate Labrador, Benji, for about 9 months and had taken great care to train him to a stage where he was generally very well behaved and obedient indoors. However, there was one problem we were having difficulty overcoming; being an ex-gundog, Benji was used to running free and therefore very reluctant to walk calmly on the lead. This problem started to escalate to the point where he began to lunge and throw himself at other dogs.

We had previously spoken to a number of people regarding this unacceptable behaviour and, although their advice helped, it did not really get to the root of the problem. Attending group training classes did nothing to improve the situation so, as a last resort, we contacted Neil.

AT LAST we had found someone with the ability to identify the problem and give us a number of positive steps to reduce Benji's behaviour.

After a series of training sessions we worked hard and almost immediately Benji's behaviour walking on the lead improved. His adverse reaction to other dogs when on the lead is now very much reduced and, just as importantly, if there does appear to be a problem; we now know exactly how to handle the situation so that it does not become a crisis.

Neil's professionalism and effective training methods have ensured so much progress in such a short time and his enthusiasm for enabling dogs to achieve their full potential is infectious. Benji continues to improve and our daily walks are no longer a 'battle' but a time to enjoy.

Many thanks Neil, and best of luck. - John & Lynne Bamforth (not forgetting 'Benji').

Dylan

Dylan

Dylan is our working Cocker Spaniel pup - full of energy and mischief. In just three sessions at the age of 9, 10 & 11 weeks, Neil introduced him to recall (by whistle), sit, down, stand, down stay and walking to heel. The rate he picked these things up with the combination of Neil's expertise and cocktail sausages was remarkable! Neil even found time to socialise our dog with two Rotweillers and a Pointer, in the controlled environment of our garden Despite having owned dogs previously, this has given us the enthusiasm and extra confidence to ensure Dylan gets a really good start.

Millie and Kain

Millie and Kain

We aquired Millie, our bull mastiff about 18 months ago from the RSPCA.  She had been re-homed twice & had led a chequered past to say the least.  It was love at first sight when Sandie & I first saw her. For the first few days after we had taken her home she was very friendly, but quite reserved.  We soon found, that when we took her out for walks she was developing a distinct dislike for other dogs, especially females, so much so that it got to the stage that we dreaded taking her out!

We contacted Neil, who came down see the problem first hand.  He spent most of the first session finding out about not only Millie`s background, but Sandie & mine aswell. We took Millie out for a walk & encountered a couple of other dogs, which with Neil`s help, we managed to negotiate without to much fuss. Subsequent sessions included training with Rebus, who as a very well controlled dog, helped to educate Millie into walking in a calm & controlled manner, which allowed Sandie & I to start to enjoy our dog walking stress free!  We still had a few concerns about socialising Millie with other dogs & after discusions with Neil, we decided to get another dog. We bought Kain our Rotweiler pup just before christmas, but had a few reservations about how to introduce him to Millie. Neil suggested that as we where about to move house, we should wait until we had moved before we brought Kain home, because he felt that as it was a new enviroment, it would make the introductions easier. Neil was on hand for Kains arrival at home and at first Millie wasn`t too impressed with the new arrival. On Neil`s advice we kept Kain in a dog crate & slowly ingrated the two of them together. Now they are inseperable, Kain has Millie wrapped round his paw and gets away with everything!  Millie has come on leaps & bounds. She is so much happier & fitter and socialises so much better with other dogs now.  From day one with Kain, we have tried to stick to the training tips that Neil has given us and we are reaping the benefits.  He is eager to learn (as are we!) and so ripe for training. We have recently had a session with Neil and Kain responded so well.

We would like to thank Neil so much for all the help, encouragement & patience - he has shown both us and also Millie & Kain.

Many Thanks, Sandie & Neil

Buster, a golden retriever was a bouncy 18 month, playful friendly and a nightmare to walk with. He was fine on open ground but get him anywhere near bushes, hedgerows or woods and he was off especially if there was even the slightest sniff of a rabbit or squirrel. His recall was totally on his terms if he wanted to come back he would. After just three sessions with Neil I can now take him anywhere, in woods, across rabbit warrens, and even through flocks of sheep and lambs. People that knew him before just can't believe the improvement and this was all achieved without so much as a raised voice. Brilliant and thanks a lot, he's a pleasure to take out now.

Peter.

Ramsey

I don't really know how to thank you enough, Ramsey has changed from being a dog who wouldnt walk anywhere to one who now waits at the door for me, he's so much more relaxed around the house too. I honestly thought our days of long walks where long gone and I had all but given up!! but thanks to you; I am pleased ro say Ramsey has not been in the car since you're last visit, he now walks with his tail high twice a day and has even lost a bit of weight Zak would like to say thank you too because now he can have his walk back too.

Hi Neil,

Me and  Jane would really like to thank Neil for all your help with our dog, Mrs Gideon.

When we decided to get a rescue dog we thought we might have a problem or two, and really we have been quite lucky to get such an intelligent and quick learning dog.

HOWEVER!

Since she came to live with us we realised she had one major problem - she hates other dogs! It was getting to the point were I had to walk her at silly times of the day just to avoid other dogs. One night she pulled me over 3 times! This was the last straw, so we called Neil in.

During the first consultation Neil had the problem identified. He gave us some really useful common sense tips. Working alongside Neils’ well behaved rottys and pointer worked wonders, and after 6 weeks Mrs Gideon became a changed dog.  We can now walk her and relax, and even go to Gorton Road, which is a local dog walking area,  without worrying. There’s still work to do but without Neils’ help she would still be getting me up a 3 am!

Although you can’t see from the photo, there are three other dogs very close.

Amber

Thank you for all your help training us to train Amber, our 4 year old Labrador.

She used to pull constantly on the lead, and when off the lead she used to just run off, and come back when she was ready.

With your expert help we are now able to walk Amber on a lead without pulling as much and off the lead she is 100% better. She is improving day by day, and this has helped us all to walk her - making life better for Amber and all the family in general.

Thanks again for all your advice and help Karl, Angela, and Family…
…and a big ‘Woof’ from Amber :-)
